November 2012

Mark Your Calendars for Our 2012 Holiday Ministries

Men’s Prayer Breakfast:

Men and older boys are invited to Bill Shelly’s home for a Men’s Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, November 10, from 8 am until 9:30. Worship will be highlighted during the devotional time. Prayer, fellowship, singing, and a light breakfast will also be included in the morning.

Thanksgiving Service:

We will celebrate Thanksgiving as a Church Family on Sunday, November 18, at 6 pm. This special service will include a devotional, corporate praise, prayer, and the reading of the "leaves" from our traditional Thanksgiving Tree. It will be a blessing for the entire family. Families are encouraged to bring a pumpkin or apple pie for our fellowship time after the service. Nursery care will be provided. Pray for David Watts who will be teaching the Thanksgiving devotional.

Christmas Cards For Our Missionaries:

Encouraging missionaries who are often separated from their families, country and friends, is one of the most important roles we play. We can do that at this time of year by remembering them with a Christmas card. Boxes for the Missionary cards will be found on the Missions table in a couple of weeks.

Missionary Christmas Gifts:

Very soon we will have a basket on the Holiday table to collect funds toward Missionary Christmas gifts. We will be sending monetary gifts to our missionary partners: The Kleis family and the James family.

Atterdag Village:

On Sunday, December 2, at 4 pm, we will minister at Atterdag Village. Please pray for Jay Fisher who will be teaching. Our children will be singing in Nativity dress. Plan to bring the whole family.

Youth Christmas Party:

The Junior High and High School kids (college too) will get together at the Shelly’s for their traditional Christmas Party. More details will be coming when the time and date are determined.

December F.E.E.D.:

The ladies will gather together on Monday, December 3, at 6 pm, for food, a devotional, fellowship, prayer and our second annual cookie exchange. Each woman will leave with a beautiful container of cookies ready to give as special gifts. Gina and Sonja are planning this fun event. More information will be coming soon.

Missions Report from Joye and Freddy:

We have the privilege of spending an evening with Joye, Freddy, and Enoch on Sunday, December 9, at 6 pm at Bill and Lillie Shelly’s home. Joye and Freddy will update us about how their Bible translation in Mexico is progressing. There will be a time of questions/answers and corporate prayer.

"Sounds Familiar" Outreach:

Sunday, December 16, at 6 pm: This eight member group has remained friends for over 40 years. During their college years, they traveled across the world presenting the Gospel through music and personal testimonies. Because of their love for each other, music, and the Lord, they recently regrouped and began rehearsing once a month. Don’t miss this opportunity to invite family and friends to a special evening of Christmas music and the Gospel message.

Christmas Worship Service:

Sunday, December 23, at 10 am: We will meet for our annual Christmas Worship celebration. Please pray that many unbelievers will respond to our advertising and our personal invitations. Jonathan Kleis will be preaching. Please pray for God’s blessing on the preaching of His Word – that Christ will be exalted and that the gospel will lead sinners to Him in saving faith!

Christmas Eve Service:

Once again we will share Christmas Eve with Trinity Baptist Church on Monday, December 24, at 6 pm. The candlelight communion service will be held at Community Church this year. We will encourage the community to join us. Nursery care will not be provided. Fellowship and dessert will follow the service.

Baptism Service:

Please be in prayer for Sandra Tombe who will be baptized on Sunday, December 30, at 2 pm at the Tovalin’s home.
