Wednesday Night Church Bible Study: This Wednesday will be our first
study in the Gospel of John. We will meet at the Church on a weekly basis from
7:00 to 8:30. Gospel of John workbooks will provide you with an opportunity to
prepare for each lesson which will be led by Cal and Kevin who will be team
Night Church Prayer: The time of our Wednesday night prayer will
shift from 7:00 to 6:00 pm so that we can attend the Gospel of John Bible Study.
We will be meeting in my office. Please join us even if you have not been
coming to these important mid-week prayer hours.
Night Potluck and Prayer Night: We will share dinner together about
once a month in the Church sanctuary. After dinner, we will then have a special
prayer time for the entire Church family. Your kids are encouraged to join us.
The time of prayer will be segmented with Scripture reading and perhaps praise
songs as we transition from one area of prayer to another: ie from praise to
petition for our missionaries, from prayer for individual needs to intercession
for various ministries in our Church, and so on. We will also be meeting this
summer potluck and prayer on Sunday nights, July 22nd and August
Baptism: Five to seven believers will be baptized in the Tovalin’s
backyard on Sunday, afternoon, June 24th, at 3 pm. The
ceremony will be marked by a brief overview of the importance of baptism,
corporate prayer and singing, and the testimonies of who will be baptized.
Please pray for this blessed and important worship service. I urge you to
invite unsaved family members and friends to this ceremony because the power of
salvation will be vividly on display.
Prayer Breakfast: Our quarterly Men’s Prayer breakfast will take
place on Saturday, June 30, at the Shelly’s home. This is always a
special time for the men and older boys of Community Church as we gather for
singing, prayer, a devotional and great fellowship.
Picnic: We will again meet at Ballard School for recreation,
fellowship, dinner, corporate praise and prayer, and dessert together. Last
year was a very blessed time for our Church family, and was very well attended.
After the picnic, you are invited to join us as we hike up on the hill behind
the Shelly’s home to watch the fireworks from under the moon, stars and amongst
the oak trees.
from the Kleis Family: Jonathan and Noella Kleis and their children
will be with us for both the morning and evening services on July 8th.
Jonathan will be preaching that Sunday morning, and in the evening our Church
family will meet with the Kleis family for a ministry report and time of
corporate prayer for their church planting ministry in Northern Italy.
from the Gilsons: Andrew and Rachel Gilson will be in Church on
Sunday morning, August 5th, when they will report on their
mission’s trip to the Middle East, and their evangelism/discipleship ministry to
the college students at Yale University. Please pray for the Gilsons who are
ministering in an Islamic country over the next several weeks on the college
campuses. Praise God that the Gilsons are now fully funded for their campus
evangelism ministry with CRU – [Campus Crusade for Christ].
We will be enjoying lunch, fellowship and recreation together as a Church
family on Sunday afternoon, August 12. The location has yet to be
